In the summer of 2017, I joined the Meccatronica prototyping lab of the Engineering Department of University of Trento as an intern. There, in addition to get hands-on experience with state-of-the-art industrial aluminum 3D printing machines, I worked with a high-resolution CMM (coordinate measuring machine) to validate production accuracy of lasercut components for a senior member's project. I also worked with a 3D scanner, creating models of objects that would be impossible to model in CAD. As a side project, I created an LED-lit plaque with Ferrari's logo on it. The base is two aluminum printed parts which house an LED strip and support a laser cut and engraved plexiglass panel.
